After a full 30 years, Miho Barović has said goodbye to Caffe Bar Kantun – a place that, for generations of Ston locals and visitors, was much more than just a café. Kantun was always the heart of encounters, conversations, gatherings, and everyday life, and Miho welcomed guests there with the smile and warmth of a true host.
As a token of gratitude, the Ston Tourist Board presented him with a painting of Caffe Bar Kantun, created by young artist Klara Knego. The painting was made during the Art Colony organized as part of the Salt Festival, and its subject – Kantun itself – symbolically rounded off Miho’s 30 years of work and life in this space.
– We believe this painting is the most beautiful gift for Miho, as it carries the memory of a place he marked with his effort and kindness. Kantun was, and will remain, a beloved part of our lives, and Miho has left a piece of himself in it, along with memories we will all cherish – said representatives of the Ston Tourist Board.
Although Miho has stepped away from the bar counter, Caffe Bar Kantun will continue to operate and remain a favorite meeting place for the people of Ston and their guests. With Miho’s departure, a special chapter has come to a close, yet the story of Kantun lives on, enriched with the memories he created over the past three decades.
