Lapidarium in the Bishop's Palace in Ston is one of the richest collections of medieval art in southern Croatia. In 2015, "Lapidarium" was arranged and opened to the domestic and cultural public.

Exhibited are stone plutes, frescoes and ornaments of rich braided decoration in various forms that illustrate the work of Ston and the surrounding area from Roman antiquity to recent historical times.

As Ston, with some interruptions, was one of the oldest diocesan centers in this area until the 19th century, there are valuable remains from early Christian churches, some of which are still in liturgical use today, although they have been damaged and repaired several times.

Wicker art in "Lapidarium" is characterized by a recognizable sequence and art culture from the time of the first nation-state of the Croats. The number of sacral buildings in the area of Ston exceeds many areas in the area where Croats lived and still live.

Valuable art paintings, various liturgical objects, old charters and printed books of valuable historical significance are also kept in the museum"Lapidarium".

The reliquary of the cross and the crown of Christ brought to Ston by Bishop Bonifacije is also interesting. He also had the Bishop's Palace in Ston built. Bishop Bonifacije was the curator of the Holy Land and the Pope's envoy for  Christians under Ottoman rule.

There is also a rich selection of gold jewelry that the faithful gave as a vow in the name of saints and their churches. The Lapidary collection testifies to the longevity of Ston and provides an insight into the rich cultural past of both Ston itself as the center and the former Zahumlje or Hum country.
