Church of Our Lady of Lužina

 

South of the new saltworks there is a very old but well preserved Church of Our Lady of Lužina.According to the chroniclers,in the distant past it had been located on an islet in the middle of the large swampland of the Bay of Ston.Next to the church there was a monestary.

The present-day Church of Our Lady of Lužina was erected in Romanesque style with ancient Croatian plait ornaments.The belfry dateback to the 18th century.
