Mr Thomas Struck and Mr Pietro Sardo, the second man of the Slow Food Organization said they were honored to have been given the opportunity to say a few words at the opening. Mr Struck said that Ston is a wonderful little town exceptionally suitable for such manifestations and Mr Sardo added that the Slow Food festival has come to and end but that Kinookus is in some way its continuation.

The second edition of KINOOKUS FFF was opened on the crowded square in front of the Rector's Palace in Ston. With warm words of welcome the guests were greeted by the Zupan of the Dubrovnik-Neretva County Mr Nikola Dobroslavic as well as by the Head of the Municipality of Ston Mr Vedran Antunica together with Mr Thomas Struck the Director of the Kulinarisches Kino a part of the Berlin Film Festival, the President of the Slow Food Foundation for Biodiversity Mr Pietro Sardo and the Director of Kinookus Mr Marijan Kockovic.

Mr Dobroslavic pointed out that the County supports this kind of events because they evaluate the authenticity of the traditional local production as well as the customs and culture while Mr Antunica said that Kinookus is always welcome to Ston and wished "many happy returns" to it. The Director of the Festival Mr Kockovic told the audience that there were some doubts about the possibility to make this second edition of Kinookus but thanks to unselfish hard work of the whole team and help of many friends this second edition of Kinookus is offering an even richer program than last year. He thanked all the sponsors, supporters, friends and above all the inhabitants of Ston for the support they have given to the organizing of this year edition.

After the opening ceremony the guests could see Henry Bateman's wonderful movie Future of Hope. After the screening they were invited to enjoy the delicious dishes made by the famous caterers of Ston as well as the excellent wines from the area. After having tried the specialties of Ston wonderful cuisine and after having had a glass of good wine the guests were invited to listen to the concert of the famous group Valetudo
